How to download a YouTube video
- Open the public YouTube video.
- Copy the URL from the address bar or the Share button.
- Paste it above and press Get video.
- Open or save the file that is returned.
What this YouTube downloader can and cannot do
VideoSaver works with public video links. Private videos, members-only videos, age-gated videos that require a login, and premieres that are not yet public usually fail. YouTube may also change its media URLs, so a link that worked yesterday can expire. If Save fails, use Open file, which loads the media URL directly.
Only download a YouTube video when you have the right to save it: your own upload, a video with a license that allows downloading, or content the owner told you to keep. VideoSaver is not a tool for ripping paid or restricted catalogs.
